Material identification
Different frames and profiles are made of different metals. Aluminium is light and non-magnetic; steel is heavier and magnetic. Coatings, glass and rubber seals may need to be separated or described. Send a photograph of a cut end if you can.
Preparation
- Remove glass and loose fixtures where it is safe to do so.
- Stack frames neatly, with sharp ends protected.
- Keep metals apart from timber and plasterboard.
